Report Overview

Summary of Alignment & Usability: The Superkids Reading Program | ELA

ELA K-2

The instructional materials reviewed for Superkids Kindergarten, Grade 1, and Grade 2 partially meet the expectations for alignment. Materials partially meet expectations for text quality, complexity, and alignment to the standards. Instructional materials partially meet the expectations of providing opportunities for rich and rigorous evidence-based discussions and evidence-based writing. Culminating tasks do not meet the criteria for requiring students to read, discuss, analyze, and write about texts while students participate in a volume of reading to build knowledge. Materials provide partial support for the acquisition of foundational skills with questions and tasks that help students to move from skills acquisition to application of skills to read and comprehend texts.
