The materials partially meet alignment for text quality and rigor; however, the majority of tasks in reading, writing, speaking, and listening are not text focused and do not require students to read closely. The materials do include some support for writing instruction and do address some foundational skills components, but do not build student development of academic vocabulary nor knowledge building.
